The Church Alliance champions the work of a unique group of institutions called denominational benefits organizations.

Denominational BENEFITS ORGANIZATIONS

Denominational benefits organizations offer retirement and/or healthcare benefits to the employees of their religiously affiliated institutions. Participating employers may include houses of worship like churches or synagogues and/or social services ministries like schools, soup kitchens, or housing centers.

PROFESSIONAL STEWARDS

The Church Alliance’s member organizations are professional stewards of denominational benefits plans. Their purpose is to manage retirement and/or healthcare plan resources on behalf of religiously affiliated institutions.

A Sacred Tradition

The Church Alliance’s member organizations recognize a sacred obligation to care for the retirement and/or healthcare plan needs of faith-based institutions, clergy, and lay workers. The structures and practices of denominational benefits organizations vary across faith traditions and denominational organizations. Some religious denominations have been operating employee benefits programs since the 1700s.
