Case: Gaylor (Freedom From Religion Foundation) v. Mnuchin

On April 26, 2018, the Church Alliance filed an amicus curiae (friend of the court) brief with the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals (Chicago) in the housing allowance case. The brief adds a perspective that is not duplicated in the government’s brief, focusing on the jurisprudential history of permitted legislative accommodations of religion. The Church Alliance was joined on the brief by a broad array of other religious organizations, in addition to the members of the Church Alliance. A full list of additional signers can be found on pages 2-4 of the Church Alliance brief. A press release is available here, and the brief is available here.
